BackupRecovery02 — The Man Behind the Warranty
Pranay Patel did not start in IT. He started in sanitation management in Ahmedabad, Gujarat — running a small waste-collection operation at a time when reliable infrastructure was something you built yourself or went without. He learned early that people only call you when something has gone wrong, and that the difference between a good service provider and a great one is how fast you show up.
The pivot to technology came in the early 2000s, when Pranay noticed that the small businesses he serviced had computers gathering dust because no one knew how to fix them. He taught himself networking from borrowed textbooks, earned his first Microsoft certification while sleeping four hours a night, and quietly built a reputation across Gujarat as the person you called when no one else could help.
He relocated to Sydney in 2011, founded Patel Enterprises, and applied the same philosophy he’d learned managing sanitation routes to managed IT: every client is on your street, every problem is your problem, and showing up on time is non-negotiable. The warranty was not a marketing idea. It was just the way he already operated.
These days, Pranay is somewhat less of a fixture at Darling Harbour on a Friday night — a transformation his wife describes as “the best security patch he ever deployed” — and considerably more of a fixture at school drop-off. He is also still the person who picks up the phone at 2am when a client has a ransomware incident.
The Patel Warranty™ — Terms & Conditions
Response Commitment. Upon receipt of a Priority 1 incident, a qualified engineer will respond within ten (10) minutes. If said engineer cannot respond within ten minutes, they will almost certainly be within walking distance and will arrive in person instead.
Geographic Jurisdiction. “End of the street” is defined as anywhere we can reasonably drive, walk, or, in exceptional circumstances, jog. This covers greater Sydney and spiritually extends to all clients everywhere.
Voiding Conditions. The warranty is void if the incident was caused by clicking a link in an email from a Nigerian prince, ignoring three previous patch notifications, or using “Password1” as your admin credential.
Samosa Clause. If Pranay attends the site personally outside business hours, the client agrees to have the kettle on. This is not negotiable.

a remediation plan nobody asked for but everyone needed.
“They responded faster than my building’s fire alarm. Ransomware was contained before lunch. I’ve never been so relieved and mildly impressed at the same time.”
“Our M365 migration was the most painless IT project in 15 years of business. Zero downtime. One invoice. I didn’t even have to explain what a tenant was.”
“The warranty isn’t a joke. Someone showed up. At my office. It was surreal. In a good way. We signed a three-year agreement the next day.”
Don’t be sorry. Just be better.
